  • How long have you known Mark?Since 1999
  • Three words to describe Mark: Energizer, Encouraging, Coach
  • Funny memory with Mark:

I remember how much we always laughed when leaders and Mark would pack into a vehicle and drive to Saranac for work week. All the way there, while we were there, and all the way back.

  • How has Mark impacted your life?

Mark was there to encourage me when I was at a low point in my faith. I had been on property staff in FL and had recently returned to OH. With no longer being on property staff I had lost my sense of direction. Mark invited me to Rockbridge for a leader weekend. While there, thru his encouragement and thru God moving in me I realized I was going to enter the mission field as a YL leader. Went on to do so for 5yr in Perrysburg.

  • What do you think Mark’s legacy will be? What is his lasting imprint on the world?

I don’t think it can be answered yet. I truly believe he is talented enough to do many amazing things for God as long as he remains faithful. As a dad and husband and knowing how much Mark wanted those things I would venture to say that he would want to be remembered as a man who pleased God by how he loved his wife and children.

  • Anything else you’d like to say to wish Mark Happy 50th Birthday!

Mark I love you and miss you man. Thank you for believing in me when I didn’t and most of all for showing faithfulness to God in the everyday things. I pray a day comes soon when we can have fellowship and be encouraging to one another. If that does not happen this side of heaven, then I look forward to rejoicing together in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

  • How long have you known Mark?8 years
  • Three words to describe Mark: Authentic, Jesus-loving, fun
  • How has Mark impacted your life?

Mark was always and only an encouragement to me in life and ministry. While I didn’t get to wok directly with him so much, my interactions with Mark left me feeling like I mattered but also that I didn’t matter too much: God is on the throne and is in control!

  • What do you think Mark’s legacy will be? What is his lasting imprint on the world?

I think Mark’s lasting impact will be that he loved people and he loved them for real, which is going to be pointing people to Christ for eternity.

  • Anything else you’d like to say to wish Mark Happy 50th Birthday!

Thanks for your example of living life, being real and loving the Lord with all of ones heart!

  • How long have you known Mark?4 years
  • Three words to describe Mark: Integrity, honorable and motivationg
  • If Mark created a nickname for you, what is it and where did it come from?

    Tommy E
I don’t think that he’s been able to find something to make fun of yet 🙂 so he’s settled on this boring moniker.

  • Funny memory with Mark:

At our last lake trip Mark asked me to drive the boat and pull Tony Marchetti in the tube. Mark had been serving everyone by driving the boat the entire time by gently pulling us on the tube with simple glee. However when he gave me the wheel I regretfully did not possess the same discipline to provide Tony with a comfortable ride through the calm Lake Martin waters. I hit a rather large wave that Tony was not prepared for and he went sailing into heaven with his arms spread wide like Jesus. Yes, he did eventually come down and I felt terrible. However when I saw that he was OK I could not stop laughing at the site to the mild chagrin of both Tony and Mark.

  • How has Mark impacted your life?

Mark changed the dynamic of men’s small groups at Buckhead Church. He is a leader and is becoming a better leader as time goes on. I am proud to call him my friend and thankful that he challenges me to grow as a man and leader.
Thank you Mark for your friendship and for your model.

  • What do you think Mark’s legacy will be? What is his lasting imprint on the world?

His first legacy will be to his wife. Mark is showing men how to lead a family through loving devotion to his wife. Mark’s second legacy will be to his children. Every time I eat at his house I get to witness his boys growing up in knowledge and character. His third legacy will be to his men’s group leaders. In my opinion the strength of Northpoint will run through the servant leadership of the men that Mark leads. By serving these men Mark models real and lasting servant leadership that will have generational impact.

  • Anything else you’d like to say to wish Mark Happy 50th Birthday!

Happy Birthday my friend and I look forward to celebrating many decades more with you.

  • If Mark created a nickname for you, what is it and where did it come from?

B-Man – I’m guessing it rhymed with He-man? Mark was just always pointing at me saying “You da man!” which I would always attempt to remain humble saying “just a man who knows the man” and he would exclaim back “right on!”

  • Funny memory with Mark:

Mark was always larger than life and he would help all of us interns loosen up with his hilarious stories and antics. Lunches with Mark were the best. The way that he would get Mac to drop his defense and just be like all of the rest of us was priceless.
